Elaine believes “DESIGN” is contributing to the betterment of society while she is always passionate about how to facilitate the career and business advancement for design practitioners and design industry. She has been applying design strategy through corporate-wide projects, design management and innovation leadership for over two decades. Her extensive experience in promoting design thinking involves redesigning business, elevating productivity, embracing challenges and solving problems for both commercial and non-profit making organisations.

Her new challenge is serving Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA) as the Project Director of HKDA Global Design Awards (GDA) 2016. Her last position with Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was the Director of Institute of Design Knowledge (IDK), Business of Design Week (BODW) and Knowledge of Design Week (KODW). In 2013, She was responsible for Design for Asia Awards (DFA Awards) 2013, including Lifetime Achievement Award, Design Leadership Award, World Chinese Outstanding Award and Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award (HKYDTA). She left significant marks to change the operation with her teammates. Prior HKDC, she worked for listed manufacturing companies and small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that allowed her to infuse design approaches into corporate strategy and management, especially process and operation, as well as product line management and brand development.

Interwoven with the methodological user research and case study, her interactive approach of learning and management inspires versatile young intelligence workers to strive towards the mission together. Her research interest areas are in design and business, design management and innovation leadership, design education in adult learning and motivation.
