Mr David Kelly Interior Design

MCSD
United Kingdom - London

Profile description
I am an architecturally biased interior designer passionate about design and particularly interested in the planning of space, form and the use of light.

I have a pragmatic and holistic view of design and the role of the designer within a project team and enjoy the team building aspects of the industry which I consider to be the key to successful projects and on-going relationships.

I am very experienced in all aspects of interior design particularly high quality refurbishment and fitting out and have worked on over 200 projects, from inception, through development and presentation of scheme designs to the management and co-ordination of production information, contract administration (including design lead project management, monitoring of quality, adherence to design intent and programme) to completion.

At TTSP my responsibilities included client liaison, project resourcing, fee proposals, project profitability, managing project teams, planning, designing and implementing a variety of interior design and refurbishment projects. I worked on projects throughout the UK including Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester, although the majority have been in London.

For the last 3 years at TTSP I chaired their Risk & Quality Assurance management group, overseeing both internal audits and external audits by the LRQA (ISO 9001 assessors) and The Wren (PI insurers). I also took part in the practice management board and represented TTSP at the Technical Forums run The Wren.

Since leaving TTSP I have carried out a number of commissions as an independent Design Manager on interior fitting-out projects from both shell and core and Category A working primarily for Contractors.

I am an active member of the Chartered Society of Designers and a membership assessor.

I trained on McDonald Douglas (ARC) GDS5.1 ‘Classic’ and then MicroGDS Computer Aided Design equipment, including SPS (Space Planning System) and 3D modelling.
