Dr DAVID HANDS Dr Design Education

Dr David Hands is an Assistant Professor and (design) researcher exploring many facets of design management; currently working in Hainan, China as Course Leader for the MA Design Management programme with Coventry University. David was an Associate Professor at Brunel Design School, Brunel University (London) on a number of their postgraduate courses delivering ‘strategic design management’ modules. Alongside these current and recent academic positions, he was – Research Fellow (BCU); Lecturer and Course Leader ‘BA Hons Design Management’ University of Salford; Senior Lecturer and Course Leader ‘MA Design Management’ Staffordshire University; and Associate Director [Teaching] Imagination / Course Director – MA Design Management, Lancaster University, UK. Since 2003 he has enjoyed the opportunity to be External Examiner / Advisor to over 13 UK based universities (again mainly design management / innovation focused) and being a panel advisor in the development of international orientated UG/PG design courses (MA Design Management at Hong Kong Design Institute, in partnership with Birmingham City University; and UG Design Interactions at Beijing Jiaotong University with Lancaster University, Weihai, Shandong province)
