Misha Black FSIA, Architect and Designer, is president of the Society 1954 - 1955

1955

The Milner Gray Lecture was instituted in 1955, originally known as the Design Oration, this annual occasion enabled the Society to invite a distinguished person to deliver the lecture on a subject of major concern to the design in the context of the larger world.

The Minerva Medal was awarded to Tapio Wirkkala for his contribution to Product Design
