The remit of CSD is to promote the professional practice of design and therefore the provision of good quality accessible training is an essential service to members and non members alike.
With this in mind, the Society has formalised its CPD points system to assist members in identifying their training objectives and how they can achieve them.
Continual Professional Development (CPD)
Members will be encouraged to accumulate 100 CPD points each calendar year and record them on their own personal online log, which will be maintained and updated via the Society's website.
The number of points gained will be displayed on members' profiles on the CSD Directory and in Designer Select, the Society's online client referral system.
Those members achieving 100 points in any one year will receive a Professional Practice Certificate, which remains valid for the following full year. In addition, their achievement will be highlighted on their CSD website profiles.
Only 60% of the points need to be accumulated by attendance at CSD training modules.
The remaining 40% can be obtained through a variety of activities, such as undertaking a full-time or part-time course of study or acting as a CSD membership assessor, mentor or portfolio gym instructor.

N.B: Non-members do not benefit from receipt of CPD points or the Professional Practice Certificate.
In-House Training
CSD also offers in-house training for design companies or in-house design teams.
This is delivered in a cost effective manner and provides tremendous internal PR potential as well as bottom line benefits from a more highly tuned design staff.
