Are you using your affix?
The major and most important benefit of membership is professional recognition identified by the use of the affix MCSD or FCSD after your name.
This signals to clients that you operate as a professional designer and they are able to see what this comprises by checking the CSD website or contacting the Society.
It is like saying: “I am a doctor, architect, lawyer, etc.'"
Therefore, remember to use your affix after your name on:
- Letterheaded Paper
- Business Cards
- Email Signatures
- Websites
- Curriculum Vitaes
- Biographies for Conferences
- etc...
The CSD membership department recently spotted a CSD member's business card and felt it was an excellent example of how CSD membership can be communicated effectively.
Not only does the business card feature the MCSD affix, but it also explains what the affix relates to for those who are not familiar with the Society.
