Unlimited Imagination TV Series
In June 2006, Samsung Electronics Ukraine organised the first design conference in the Ukraine, which was attended by almost 300 designers and media representatives.
The conference included presentations by leading designers from Samsung & Jaguar and The Chartered Society of Designers.
Following the conference, around 40 publications published interviews and articles based around the concept of living by design and the role of design in Ukrainian society both today and tomorrow.
As part of this project The Chartered Society of Designers discussed with 5th Channel television in Ukraine the idea of developing a television series based on the conference theme.

With an enviable design reputation it is not surprising that the Ukraine has seen fit to look towards the UK and the professional body for designers (CSD) to collate a series of TV interviews with leading design players aimed at promoting design to business and government in the Ukraine.
“This project follows on from a very successful visit to Kiev last year”, says CSD Chief Executive Frank Peters, where on behalf of the Society he gave the opening address at the Samsung Unlimited Imagination Conference.
“International collaborations are a key element to CSD's current strategy of promoting professionalism”, says Peters, “and it is important to communicate at the highest levels with governments around the world in order to achieve our goals”.
Over the coming year CSD will strengthen its relationship with the Ukraine and China, where it has a collaboration agreement in place with a Chinese Government design initiative.
It will also be establishing further collaborations with Latin America and India in 2007.
As Peters says, '”Design students are now studying around the world and designers practice globally; therefore we can no longer isolate ourselves and must promote professionalism in all countries. With members in 34 countries, we are well placed to influence the international design agenda”.
