Building the Creative Business Course
The Centre for Creative Business (CCB) is a not-for-profit joint venture between Europe’s largest creative university - University of the Arts London and the top-rated business school in Europe – London Business School. It has been set up to educate, enable and inspire creative entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level.
The CCB is offering a bespoke Building the Creative Business (BCB) course aimed at creative entrepreneurs who have established a reputation for excellence, but need to develop their skills and businesses further.
CCB Chief Exectuive Greg Orme said:
"Entrepreneurs on our course come from all different types of creative industry; architecture to film production, publishing to brand consultancy. And what's brilliant is they learn just as much from each other as they do from us."
"What is very exciting, particularly relating to the traditional design industries, is that the core general business management skills we teach - leadership, strategy and finance - are so underrepresented in these industries that there is a genuine competitive advantage to be had for the few agencies that add business rigour and focus on top of their creative output".
"It is about capturing value for your firm, not just creating it for your client!"
The BCB is a nine-day course run over three weekends and the cost has been heavily subsidised. The application process is now open for the next intake, where there will be room for only 15 businesses, so early application is suggested.
The course will start on Friday 7th October (2nd weekend in November, 3rd in February 06) and the deadline for applications is Thursday 8th September.
The Design Association (DA) has already pledged its support to the CCB and is looking forward to helping them reach a wider design business audience.
