New CSD Website Launched
Green Cathedral have designed a new website for The Chartered Society of Designers following a major review of members’ benefits and services.
Frank Peters MCSD, Chief Executive, said that "the new site was at the forefront of the CSD recruitment initiative launched to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Society 1930."
He added, “the remit of the Society is to advance the professional practice of design and the new website illustrates this not only to our members but to the business sector and the community.
When navigating the site members are constantly reminded of their professional duty and prospective clients are reassured at every stage that those who have achieved membership are qualified to practice to a high standard.
The Designer Select register not only provides potential clients with contact details of designers, but it also displays their commitment to Continued Professional Development by identifying their CPD points. This really puts the onus on designers to improve their skills and for clients to appreciate that design is a professional activity.
As much as designers need to prove their worth, Designer Select is also calling on clients to act professionally. Any client found asking designers to do speculative pitches will be barred from using Designer Select.
The site also offers a whole new range of member services, including a customised financial management software package developed exclusively for CSD members. The service not only allows members access to a fully automated accounting system, but it also provides them with monthly job costing reports based on the data they input and initially gives them FREE charge out rates and fee structures.
The CSD Directory offers a register so that CSD members can network and view each others portfolios. This is particularly useful and profitable for those seeking freelance work or providers and in job recruitment.”
Asked what else the website provided, he added that, “there is far too much for a news item, members and visitors should logon or register and look through the pages to get a feel for what the Society is currently doing, I know they will be impressed.
The only other important thing to add is our gratitude to Green Cathedral and Security Architects for supporting the Society in developing this site. Without their support it would not have been possible”.
