Design Council rebuked

In a press release today, British Design Innovation (BDI) rebuked the Design Council for comments made by its Chair Lord Michael Bichard when announcing the Design Council review as to 'market failure'.

Frank Peters FCSD, Chief Executive of CSD said, 'We appear to be in strong agreement with BDI on this matter and it would be interesting to hear what the DBA have to say on the issue' read more ...

Government announces review of the Design Council

The government has announced a review of the Design Council to consider its role and status. The review will be chaired by Martin Temple CBE and will report back to the minister in September.

CSD on panel for Ergonomic Design Awards

The CSD President, Chris Ramsden FCSD, will be joining the panel of judges for the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors' (IEHF) Ergonomic Design Awards later this year.

Commenting on the awards, Chris said, 'Ergonomics are vital to good design and the Society is pleased to have built a strategic relationship with IEHF. The awards are only one aspect of the partnership which will be strengthened by future collaborations on training modules and joint events.'
